It is officially Spring.
What does this mean in terms of lawn care maintenance?
As the days become a little longer and the weather gets a little warmer, it’s time to start thinking about your lawn again. Spring clean your lawn from winter leaves and debris and treat for weeds. Your lawn is still tender from winter and the weather can be quite unpredictable. It is best to be gentle and let your lawn slowly regain its glory.
Old South Landscaping treats lawns with crab grass pre-emergent with a slow release fertilizer. This will prevent crab grass and other glasslike weeds. The pre-emergent weed control treats weeds by preventing their seeds from germinating. These herbicides work for a few months, so you should anticipate another turf treatment in the summer.
Maintaining your landscaping beds is another way to prevent weeds. Old South Landscaping has been hard at work mulching these past few weeks.
Our mulching service includes - preparation of all mulch beds for new mulch, removal of excess old mulch and edging of bed lines with debris disposal as well as the purchase, delivery and installation of quality hardwood mulch and pine straw in mulch beds and tree rings. This is followed up with Snapshot bed weed pre emergent being spread on all beds upon completion of mulching to prevent weed growth.
